FAST is a First Aid Support Team operated by trained volunteers in Camposol to provide vital, potentially life saving, support in the interval between the onset of a medical emergency and the arrival of an ambulance. We have two fully equipped vehicles. We aim to operate this service 24 hours per day, 7 days per week (subject to responder availability).
The work that FAST does in the community was recognised on the 22nd July 2018 by the presentation of a certificate of recognition by the British Embassy in Madrid.
Our responders are fully trained and authorised by Murcia Health Authority, the European Resuscitation Council and Health & Safety International (HASI). Training includes administering immediate first aid, stopping Life-Threatening Bleeds, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and monitoring (and treating where possible) a patient’s vital signs to ensure the best possible chance of survival whilst waiting for an ambulance to arrive.
Responders Giving Aid
We do not attempt to substitute professional medical ambulance treatment, but offer a rapid response service to Camposol residents and visitors in the vital minutes before an ambulance arrives. These few minutes can make a huge difference to the outcome of a medical emergency.
FAST, making Camposol a safer place for everyone.
